Abstract:	A family affair: The view of the LDLR family has shifted from a family of endocytosis receptors towards a class of membrane proteins participating in complex signaling pathways. The receptors play essential roles in several physiological processes but are also involved in many pathological events, such as atherosclerosis and Alzheimers disease; this makes them attractive drug targets.
