| Abstract: | This repository contains the dataset and analysis code accompanying the manuscript: “Metabolic inflammation, brain age and cognitive functioning in short- and long-term clinical weight loss trials.” The study investigates the relationship between metabolic inflammation, weight change, and brain ageing using multimodal data (clinical, hormonal, and MRI-based brain age metrics) collected in two longitudinal, randomized weight loss trials. Data included here comprise: Aggregated clinical and biochemical variables (BMI, insulin sensitivity, leptin, fetuin-B, CRP). Brain-predicted age difference (BPAD) metrics derived from structural and diffusion MRI. Summary statistics from cognitive assessments. The accompanying MATLAB scripts reproduce the main statistical analyses and figures presented in the paper. |
