Abstract:	The accumulation of misfolded cytosolic or aggregation-prone proteins leads to cellular stress. To protect the cell, damaged or aggregated proteins are actively sequestered in two newly discovered quality control compartments, JUNQ and IPOD, which are highly conserved in evolution.
