Abstract:	Androgen deficiency in men is associated with metabolic syndrome and diabetes, which has been attributed to actions of androgens upon insulin target tissues. In this issue of Cell Metabolism, Navarro et al. (2016) report a role for androgens and their receptor in the regulation of insulin secretion in β cells.
