Title: | Systems biology approach to study cancer metabolism |
Creators Name: | Kempa, S. and Royla, N. |
Abstract: | Transformation of cells into tumor cells is directly linked to a reprogramming of metabolism. Thus genomic or epigenomic alterations translate into adaptations of the biochemical phenotype of a cell. We are just at the beginning of understanding the mechanisms behind the metabolic reprogramming of metabolism as it includes all regulatory levels; (epi-) genomic, (post) transcriptional, (post) translational, and allosteric. In order to decode the regulatory mechanisms during metabolic reprogramming a systems view is needed that allows to follow the flow of information from the genome to metabolism. |
